There is a special program named Making Strides Against Breast Cancer that works to help cancer patients fight back against their disease. What is this program and how can you participate? Making Strides - The American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society is "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer." What is this? It is a walk anyone can participate in to help in the battle against breast cancer. The purpose of this program is to provide hope and support for patients with breast cancer and the families supporting them.

Anyone can participate in the Making Strides program. You can walk in almost all fifty states. For more information about where the ACS is implementing programs like this, visit the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Site.

What Else You Can Do To Fight Breast Cancer
The MSABC program, developed by the American Cancer Society, is an annual event with the purpose of raising awareness of breast cancer, and raising money to help find a cure for breast cancer.

Together, people engaged in the walk are working to fight back against breast cancer. Anyone can join, and participate, helping earn money to help treat, detect, educate women and contribute to research aimed at fighting back against breast cancer.

You can sign up for a walk in your area by visiting the American Cancer Society's site, and encourage others to do the same. So far, this program has raised more than two hundred million dollars to support breast cancer education and research. Almost half a million people have participated in the Making Strides program, collecting millions along the way.

If you or someone you know wants to help fight back against breast cancer, than take advantage of this opportunity. Usually the Making Strides walks take place during October, and average approximately five miles each.

Most people donating money to a cause want to know where their money goes. So far, the Making Strides walk along with the American Cancer Society is using money earned to accomplish the following:

  • Support new research that may lead to life-saving treatments.
  • Providing a national cancer hotline you can access at 800-ACS-2345.
  • Providing education to patients with breast cancer and their families.
  • Providing reminders for all women to have annual mammograms to detect breast cancer early.

The money is also supporting the primary website for the American Cancer Society's programs. As you can see, all this money is going to a good cause, so why not contribute to the cause today? If you are not able to walk or donate, there are many other ways you can support those with breast cancer, including through consumer advocacy and education programs.
